About the John Sage Foundation
Impact
The Foundation was formed in 1991 by James and Corrilla Hastings, who raised their family on a farm in Skowhegan, Maine. Concerned about environmental degradation from rapid development, they created the John Sage Foundation to support organizations improving environmental quality and protecting important natural lands.
Since 1991, the Foundation has awarded nearly $2,000,000 in grants to Maine nonprofits, schools, government and tribal entities.
